Residential Checklist

NEW HOME – ADDITION – ALTERATION – GARAGES – DECKS

SITE BUILT – Submit complete plans including, but not limited to the following:

  1. Foundation plan
  2. Lumber size
  3. Span & spacing
  4. All header or beam size and span
  5. Floor plan
  6. Roof plan

HUD APPROVED – Submit the following:

  1. Installation instructions
  2. Tie down specs with State approval sheet
  3. Foundation plan
  4. Floor plan
  5. Plans for any additional modification approved by the manufacturer

STATE APPROVED PRE-MANUFACTURED – Submit the following:

  1. Foundation plan
  2. Plans for any additional modification approved by the manufacturer
  3. State approval sheet for home

A Site Plan is required for all new construction EXCEPT interior alterations.  Show to sale entire property with all distances to new construction from property lines and existing buildings.

Driveway and Address Permit:  Contact Calhoun County Road Commission at (269) 781-9841.

Well and Septic Permit:  (If private water) contact County Health Department at (269) 966-1241.

Municipal Water and Sewer:  Pay all water & sewer tap fees (if applicable) to Pennfield Township (269) 968-4422.

Contractors must submit a copy of their Builder’s License, Liability Insurance, and Workers Compensation to register with Pennfield Township. A $5.00 fee for the year will also be paid by the contractor.
